Library Director

 

Laura Thomas became library director in May of 2021. She grew up between Castalia and Frankville on a dairy farm. She attended South Winneshiek and Luther College before going abroad to live. She and her family returned to Northeast Iowa in 2014. Laura is married with two children.

Prior to becoming the director at Fort Atkinson Public Library, Laura held different positions at Cresco Public Library including YA Librarian. She lives in Cresco and loves her job as director here at Fort Atkinson.

Her goals for the library are to make it more of a community space, with something for everyone and an open, welcoming place.
